Proxy setup: geo matching, mobile vs residential, and what breaks
The proxy is not an accessory. To the platform, it is where your business appears to be. Get it wrong and the account looks stolen — which, from the algorithm's point of view, is exactly the pattern it hunts for.
Match the geo to the account, not to you
If the account was created and verified in Germany, the session must look German. A US IP on a German account is the single loudest signal you can send. Match country first, then city where possible, and keep it stable.
Mobile vs residential vs datacenter
Datacenter proxies are cheap and detectable — do not use them for ad accounts. Residential proxies are the working standard: stable, plausible, affordable. Mobile proxies carry the highest trust because thousands of real users share the same carrier IP, which makes them the safest option for high-spend accounts.
Whichever you choose, it must be dedicated. Shared proxies mean shared history, and someone else's ban becomes yours.
Sticky sessions beat rotation
Rotating IPs mid-session looks like account takeover. Use a sticky session or a static residential IP so a single account always appears from the same place.
Check for leaks before logging in
Confirm the exit IP, timezone, WebRTC and DNS all point to the same country before the first login. A proxy in Berlin with a WebRTC leak exposing your real IP is worse than no proxy at all.
Keep it running
Never move an established account onto a new proxy without a reason. If you must switch, change to an IP in the same city and log in once without making any changes.
