Warming up an ad account is not superstition. You are producing the exact behavioural history that Meta''s trust scoring rewards: consistent spend, clean delivery, no rejections, stable environment. Here is the schedule.
Before day 1
- Payment method added and successfully charged once (a small campaign is enough).
- Business verification submitted if the entity exists.
- Page published with real content, not an empty shell created the same hour.
- Pixel installed and firing on a domain that has been live for more than a day.
- Login environment fixed: one device, one consistent IP or matching proxy.
Do not skip the page and pixel steps. Meta reads page quality as part of account quality.
Days 1-3: prove you are real
Budget: $10-25/day. Objective: traffic or engagement, not conversions. Creative: the safest thing you sell. No claims, no urgency, no personal attributes. Changes allowed: none beyond pausing a bad creative.
The goal is a successful charge, clean delivery and zero rejections.
Days 4-7: establish consistency
Budget: raise once per day, maximum ~50%, landing around $50-75. Objective: introduce a conversion campaign at low budget alongside the traffic one. Creative: rotate two or three safe variations. Changes: one per day. Budget or creative, not both.
If anything gets rejected here, stop scaling for 48 hours and let the record settle.
Days 8-14: build spend history
Budget: $100-250/day. Objective: conversions become primary. Structure: add a second ad set, not a second account. Payment: do not change the card. A payment change during warm-up resets a lot of goodwill.
By day 14 the account should have an unbroken run of daily spend and no policy events. That record is the asset.
Days 15-21: approach real budget
Budget: step towards target, 30-50% increases. Creative: now introduce your stronger angles, one at a time. Watch for: delivery flattening below your budget — that is the platform cap, not a bidding problem.
Rules for the whole period
- Never pause everything for more than a day. Gaps in spend read as abandonment.
- Never add or remove admins.
- Never switch countries on login.
- Never run your aggressive offer before day 15.
- Never test two structural changes in the same session.
What you get for it
A properly warmed account tolerates far more later: faster scaling, higher caps, and considerably more forgiveness when a single creative gets rejected. An unwarmed account scaled hard in week one is the single most common ban profile we see.
Every account we ship goes through a documented warm-up before delivery, precisely because the first three weeks decide how much the account can do for the next twelve months.
